An American tourist’s dream vacation turned into a nightmare after she was kidnapped from a luxury penthouse suite in Tunisia.
According to local police, the woman had been traveling alone and was last seen leaving a rooftop restaurant late at night. Hotel staff found her room ransacked the next morning, and security footage showed two masked men entering the building minutes before her disappearance.
U.S. authorities quickly became involved, working with Tunisian officials to locate her. After 48 tense hours, she was found alive but traumatized, hidden in a remote building outside the city.
“She’s safe now,” said a U.S. embassy spokesperson. “But the investigation is far from over.”
